AbstractVocalist Eleanor Franklin (April Ferris) and Benny Carter (piano) perform "Peaceful Warrior" in seven takes. Carter was commissioned by the Ira and Leonore S. Gershwin Fund at the Library of Congress for the composition "Peaceful Warrior Suite," completed in 1996 and written in memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
