AbstractThis audio is from a 1960 television broadcast. Bud Powell plays "John's Abbey.” The host (Sim Copans) introduces Lucky Thompson (2:45). Thompson (soprano saxophone), pianist Alice McLeod (later Coltrane), Pierre Michelot (bass), and Kenny Clarke (drums) play Ram Ramirez’s "Lover Man" (3:10). The host introduces Billie Poole (8:18) who sings "Don't Ever Leave Me." Then Powell, Thompson (tenor sax), Jimmy Gourley (guitar), Clarke, and Michelot perform "Anthropology" (11:56).
