Note(s)Eddie Barefield was a journeyman saxophonist and arranger. During his sixty year career, he played and recorded with such notables as Bennie Moten, Cab Calloway and Fletcher Henderson. He provided arrangements for Cab Calloway, Bennie Goodman, Glenn Miller and Jimmy Dorsey. A true "journeyman" his varied career encompassed movies and the circus band for Ringling Brothers (1971-1982). He freelanced for many bands in his last two decades and is also notable for a fine later recording, his 1977 album "The Indestructible Eddie Barefield."
