Note(s)Paul Howard is best known for his band, the Quality Serenaders, which included Lionel Hampton and Lawrence Brown as sidemen. He played many instruments but is best known for playing the tenor saxophone. He was active in the 1920s and 1930s, and in addition to his own band, performed in the bands of King Oliver and Jelly Roll Morton, among others.
