Note(s)Nellie Lutcher (1912-2007), an American jazz vocalist and pianist, began performing as a teenager in Louisiana and moved to Los Angeles in 1935. She made her first recording with Capitol Records in 1947 under the name Nellie Lutcher and Her Rhythm, which included the hit single - Hurry On Down. She was also known for the songs: He's a Real Gone Guy, My Mother's Eyes, and Fine Brown Frame. After recording on the Okeh label in the 1950s, she performed and sang rarely, but served as a director for the Musicians' Union in Los Angeles.
