Note(s)Born March 11, 1902, Chauncey Morehouse was primarily a drummer during his musical career and is considered one of the most technically skilled percussionists of his era. Becoming active in the jazz scene in the 1920s, Morehouse turned to studio work in 1929 and made a name for himself in TV and radio over the next 40 years. Later in his career he was all but forgotten by anyone other than jazz historians, though he would perform at jazz festivals into the 1970s. Morehouse died November 3, 1980.
