Note(s)Quinn B. Wilson (1908-1978) was an American jazz bassist, tuba player and arranger. During his early career Wilson performed with a number of bands including a long stint with Erskine Tate (late 1928 to early 1931). He recorded with Jelly Roll Morton, Richard M. Jones and Jimmie Noone. From 1931 to 1939 Wilson played with the Earl Hines Orchestra where he also arranged and composed. In the 1940s he began playing electric bass and performed with blues artists John Lee Hooker and Lefty Bates.
